fun with papa

Thursday, March 29, 2012

chris is super busy as always, but i’ve been able to catch a few fun clips of him and his jellybean lately.

a new favorite - ring around the rosie

(my oh my!  have you ever looked up the meaning behind those lines?)

we’ve been helping anabelle work on her front roll here & there when we are at the gym.  chris took her this morning while i stayed home to get some work done.  she came home ready to show me her skills.  tadah!

video time

Thursday, March 29, 2012

i didn’t realize how many videos were hiding on my phone.  i surely won’t post all of them but here are a few sweet ones.  anabelle is becoming more and more verbal, learning new signs each week, and continuing to crack us up!

i try to make sure to send i send chris little videos of anabelle while he’s away.  this one is topped off with a bit of spaghetti face.

here is anabelle’s version of ‘sshhhh’.
it’s not very quiet!

a fun afternoon at the park, busy busy!  she’s still not a fan of sand though.

just a little snack and some sweet faces.

not much sitting still

Thursday, March 29, 2012

been waiting for a chance to sit still long enough that I can get a couple things up on the blog.  I manage to keep up with the pictures, but it is just getting harder to find the time to get everything downloaded and transferred from my brain to the computer.

here are the belly pics from the last 2 weeks

21 weeks - 2

22weeks - 2

Had a check up and ultrasound last week.  everything seems to be right on track.  Emilymae is on the smaller side like anabelle was.  petite babies work just fine for me!  my mom was able to make it to my check up and heard the baby’s heartbeat, pretty sweet.  I was also glad to have a chance to show my parents around the birth center so they could have an idea of where I’ll be.  chris managed to get time to come to the ultrasound which was great since he was away on training for anabelle’s.  it has been confirmed that emilymae is still a girl (yah!) and all her organs appear just right.  we’ll get the official report from the dr next month.

oh & I’ve started to feel emilymae move!  the ultrasound tech showed me how I have an anterior placenta so most of baby’s movements are being absorbed by the extra cushion.

zoom!

here I am, 20 weeks along and getting gently reminded that I have absolutely no control of time.  Swoosh and there it goes!  I swear I was just getting ready for chris to deploy, wondering what it was going to be like to have a baby without him here.  now?  we have this incredibly joyful and entertaining 20 month old and I am half way through the pregnancy for baby #2!

so happy, so blessed – so need things to slow down.

with work requirements, a go go anabelle, keeping track of chris schedule, and just life in general, I’m trying to figure out some time (hopefully soon) where I can just be with this baby inside my belly.  I want to be able to focus on her, send calm and soothing good vibes her way, just to better connect with her.  next week I have a check up and my big ultrasound so I’m anxious for another peek.  since I haven’t felt her move quite yet I just want a quick ‘I’m a-ok momma!’ from our tiny emilymae.

as a start for my focus-on-your-baby-belly plan, I’ve scheduled a lovely massage for myself & EMA for Wednesday.  I think I feel better already!

20 weeks - 1

I’m pretty sure my newly acquired hips and bum are starting to make my dress a bit shorter.
could be the belly too, I suppose.

work

Friday, March 16, 2012

this was so me today!
conference calls and software support while on speaker phone with an awake and busy anabelle can be a little tricky.

nothing crazy or dramatic - just not very graceful.

calls are all done and anabelle is asleep.  suppose i’d better get back to it – i have plenty more work to try and get done today.

bonus - besides time later with my cutie husband and sweet babe . . .
my parents are flying in tonight, hooray!

19 weeks

Friday, March 9, 2012

ok, i was waiting for my hair appointment wednesday before i took this week’s belly pic.

19 weeks

it seems lately that by the time i sit down to write a post my preggo brain has forgotten all of the mental notes i had about what to write.

thankfully all of the pics i take help me remember some of it.

running is surely her favorite method of transportation.  she doesn’t care to do much walking these days.  we’ve officially made the transition to cloth diapers (fuzzi bunz are my diaper of choice thanks to info from a friend).  she has been doing great at swim, crawling with her arm (polar bear arms is what they call it) and kicking her little legs.  i love watching her pull herself up and out of the pool, then turn around, sit down, scoot to the edge, and jump in to coach damon for another swim.

anabelle supervised papa while he was working on our taxes.

sweet bed head!  i think she looks like a lion.
another recent fav – her little lion roar.

IMG_2792

she’s learning to work zippers so i put her vest on ‘topher’ (a bear chris gave me the first year we were dating) so she could practice.

IMG_2803

i’m pretty sure i’ll never get tired of early morning snuggles in bed with my anabelle.  some of these shots have been my favorite over the last 20 months.

IMG_2815

anabelle has had her 6 little teeth for over 6 months and now three more are on their way which left her with a stuffy and sometimes super runny nose.  as you can see, she’d much rather play with the nose sucker than to sit still and let me use it.  i suppose i don’t blame her.

IMG_2819

she’s still working on using her spoon and fork with little successes here and there.

IMG_2821

yesterday we went to miramar to see the marine corps band and the silent drill team – always a great performance!

   IMG_2829   IMG_2831

anabelle has also really enjoyed watching all of the diggers and excavators clearing the empty lot behind our complex.  the lot has gone untouched since we moved in 7 1/2 years ago and then last week all of these machines showed up and are out there growling and scooping once the sun is up.  we’re excited to see what their project turns out to be.

so sweet

Monday, March 5, 2012

here is a video recently posted on facebook from best for babes foundation- a positive breastfeeding page that i follow.  it is pure sweetness.

score!  I think We can all use an extra ‘go boobs!’ and a ‘stick with it!’ when nursing our babes.

this little guy had a stuffy nose while he was nursing which was making a whistling sound and gave him the giggles.  makes me smile inside and out!
