we finally got a chance to use our timeshare, wahoo!
chris booked a penthouse unit, requested for time off from work, and bought the tickets - that’s when i knew it was really going to happen and i was a happy girl! we’ve talked about using it before but it has never worked out. thankfully at least other friends have been able to enjoy it. but this time it was our turn!
anabelle woke up hat morning and ‘i wanno go cabo!’ well, little one - grab carter and your backpack and let’s go!
cabo, here we come!
the flight to cabo from san diego was easy and quick, only two hours. anabelle and i hadn’t been on a plane since my brother’s wedding in december 2011 and this was her first time in her own seat. the girls did great.
anabelle was pretty excited about the little bus that picked us up at the airport and took us to the resort.
and tadah - just like that we were in sunny mexico!
we took a few quick minutes to check out our huge new 5th floor home (bigger than our condo in san diego) and the views. then it was time to get ready for the pool . . . or should i say pools!
we rented baby gear for our stay, including a giant bin of toys for anabelle. this zebra float and a little baby doll stroller, which carter fit perfectly in, were definite favorites!
well, good morning pacific ocean!
anabelle checking out the pools and looking for friends. emilymae loved the breeze.
everyone got a lot of chances to work on their happy face!
time for a rest.
then we decided to go check out the beach.
the resorts are mostly up on the cliffs above the beach. we found a path and started our little trek with the goal of building a sandcastle - anabelle had been talking about it for a couple weeks.
score! we’re on the sand. it was different than any other sand i’d seen before.
it was rough and gritty - well I guess that’s how sand tends to be - but to me it looked like a mixture of uncooked quinoa and sesame seeds.
i was so happy to watch chris play with anabelle, to have him to ourselves, to have no schedule and no distractions.
we needed it!
the cool breeze and sounds from the ocean put emilymae to sleep as soon as we got down there so snuggled up she stayed.
another day back at the pool.
they were all heated but still only 75ish degrees so anabelle opted for the giant jacuzzi which she happily called the warm pool. it was too hot for emilymae to get in so we just stayed cozy in a little cabana enjoying the anabelle & papa show.
after nap it was time for all of us to go for a swim. emilymae and i couldn’t go all the way to cabo and not get in the water. we didn’t stay in very long but she did great!
she swam, she jumped, she swam some more . . . and took breaks with papa when she needed them.
anabelle now likes to tell chris ‘two girls, papa’ so he’ll hold them both.
we managed to fit in a few short workouts while we were there. anabelle felt right at home and emilymae continued to work on her army crawl. was pretty funny to watch anabelle get her own mat and start doing burpees with us.
post workout treat - chris ordered ice cream for us . . . with sprinkles!
(we just discovered the fancy nancy books and she likes, ok loves, sprinkles)
as usual, she only wanted a couple tiny bites.
soaking it all up on our last full day.
how about a little dancing by the fountain?!
all the fun wore chris and anabelle out so emilymae and i played on the floor and tried some more solids.
yah, sweet potatoes!
buenas noches
alright, time to head home. thanks for the escape and the special time together!
(would be so great to come back regularly and compare pictures)
