cheering on the gators!
(both girls are 3 months)
i feel like I’m so behind right now on my blog. my little brain thinks of things to write throughout the day but i just haven’t had the time to sit and type. i have plenty of new pictures and stories to share though.
here is emilymae’s three month shot!
sorry for the posing emilymae. i’ll do better next time and will try to find a more flattering position.
this month it was even harder to keep anabelle out of the shot. she’s in so in love with her sister these days - racing me to help her when she’s crying and saying loud ‘ok emilymae!’ and she cuts me off to get to her first. there are lots of heavy hugs and kisses and she likes to try to wipe off emilymae’s mouth when she spits up . . . which usually involves covering emilymae’s entire face with the burp cloth.
thanks for all the help, anabelle!
i end up with so many different pictures that i feel like posting but that are such a random assortment of moments during our week so this is what you get . . a this-and-that bundle of sneak peaks into the delightful randomnees of our days.
anabelle found flags on the porch and wanted to hold them while she watched the construction workers outside. we had just giving painting a try so she was wearing one of my aprons. she liked the idea of painting just as long as none of it got on her.
chris reading to the girls before bed.
one afternoon anabelle found the tin i keep all of her jewelry/accessories in and asked to wear all of them. this is how it looked. pure beauty!
this must have been one of the toasty hot days when shirts and pants were optional.
when this is what you find on your phone you know your little one has been at work.
showing off her sassy new leopard print crocs – thank you ebay!
relaxing at home after a morning at the gym.
momma, i think i’m done with these newborn clothes. want to go shopping?
on that note – we did do some great ‘shopping’ in our storage unit when i picked up bins of anabelle’s old clothes. so many cute things and such a bargain!
the view and snuggles after side-lying nursing are some of my favorite.
this was her first day wearing socks –
not really a big deal or anything, just thought it was cute.
sister hugs & kisses (carefully supervised)
what’s up, buttercup?!
practicing abc’s with anabelle. i love hearing her sing and then cheer for herself when she’s done. “. . . won’t you sing with me, yah!”
she has become quite the jokester. when i ask her what a particular letter is she like to repeat the same incorrect letter and then laugh. ‘w’ seems to be a favorite. silly girl! she likes to do the same with colors.
these pictures were taken just over 11 weeks ago put i still wanted to share some of my favorites. gosh, both girls have changed so much already!
i like how most of these shots aren’t anything glamorous, just real live in our own little home.
such a good big sister - at least the intent usually is
my oh my, she was so very tiny!
my favorite shot of me & emilymae. if i remember, i’m hoping to do this one again when she turns one. no hurry though. one day at a time, slow slow.
she’s about twice this big now. incredible!
thanks again, sarah, for the beautiful henna. i love that it was captured in some of these shots.
still one of my overall favs with the assortment of styles and colors.
that’s us. chris & all his girls, the perfect hodge-podge combination!
a little one on one and trying to be a good example for tummy time
above is emilymae at 8 1/2 weeks.
below is anabelle at 7 weeks.
this weekend was the miramar airshow. lucky for us, chris was off on friday so we packed up the girls and headed to base to beat the crowds and crazies.
it was a great day together and anabelle rocked her ‘papa jacket’!
her phrases of the day were ‘jets too loud’ and ‘so bright’. thankfully we brought along her hearing protection (which she also requested to wear at home on saturday and sunday when the blue angels were flying over – yep, we’re pretty lucky to be able to watch a good bit of their show from our porch!) and chris let her borrow his sunglasses.
i love this big girl!
carter made the outing too.
she has just starting to say ‘cheese’ for pictures.
don’t worry about those dark clouds in the background – they were just hanging around. no storm. it doesn’t really rain in san diego. they just talk about it sometimes.
watching the golden knights jump team.
as we walked back towards chris’ hanger (which i forgot to mention – we managed to park right in front of. barely even 20 steps to the entrance gate. score!), chris and anabelle went to check out the fire rescue truck while emiliymae and i took a little milk break under the wing of an e-6 mercury (it’s big!).
then we took a trip to the squadron’s flight equipment shop to see chris’ locker and so anabelle could check out his helmet again. plus it was on the way to the restrooms.
and the tour finished up with our first peek in papa’s office at VMFAT-101.
thanks muggy for the great date. all of your girls are so super proud of you and what you do!
emilymae keeps on growing so we have moved on to a new bin of clothes. this one had several outfits that i really remember anabelle wearing, in particular this polka dot outfit.
among all the new words and phrases anabelle is using, ‘hi sister!’ is a new favorite and has just the perfect joyful inflection when she says it!
last friday i decided to have a baby playdate with some of my girlfriends. we all had baby girls this summer so i thought it would be great to get together, chat about baby girl cuteness, share about mommy challenges and questions, encourage each other, and enjoy some tasty foods and adult conversation.
i collected all of my quilts and layered them out on the floor, moved a little furniture, put trader joe’s frozen almond croissants in the oven (so delish!), and waited for my friends and their sweet babies started to arrive.
thankfully anabelle did a good job ‘testing’ the quilted floor out before anyone showed up.
vivienne is the oldest of the bunch at 4 1/2 months.
ella is almost 4 months.
and olivia is the littlest one at 7 weeks. she took a record long nap this day!
i loved having friends over! sarah and stephanie, so wish you could have joined us. xo.
best buddies!
i definitely hope to have these girls back to visit again soon!
