belle's room

thanks to chris' help before he left, amazing pics from helene, and design advice from deidre - belle's room is pretty much done! it still is a little weird to walk by and see a crib in there, but i love it. charley continues to take most of her toys in there and just lay in front of the crib for hours. just keeping watch on anabelle's space i suppose.

we're next

two sweet friends had baby boys this past week. that means i'm next - oh my! baby seems to be trying to stretching out, pressing on different spots in my belly. i tend to be a bit lopsided in one direction or another most of the day.

i heard from chris yesterday. he's made it to his base and is getting settled in. we were able to skype for a few minutes - long enough that i could get a quick fix of hearing his voice and seeing his handsome face. even baby seems to be excited about hearing him.

i know it's only monday, but i'm looking forward to a 4 day weekend. this is my first last full week of work. must admit that i'm looking forward to being able to wear whatever i want.

here we go!

chris is now on his way overseas and so far we both seem to be managing quite well - it's still sinking in. we had a great few days before he took off. which always helps he was jet number four out of the first six that launched - quite a sight!


tomorrow he'll turn off his cell phone and the next time i hear from him will be once he's settled on base - should get there this weekend.

it was an early start sunday morning. i think we still look a little sleepy in the picture - and we look really young too. i got to talk to him last night and this afternoon. he said he had a great time in virgina beach yesterday and today. i'm so glad he got a chance to catch up with our friends there. thanks guys for giving him such a good send off!

i'm still feeling great (less itchy, hooray!) and baby is staying active. now it's time for her to really kick up the growing. not sure where she's going to fit, but i'm guessing she'll make room. i'm starting to wish i could wear my loungy clothes to work - ok, who am i kidding. i've been wanting to wear them to work for months.

tomorrow i'm supposed to meet my replacement at work. it's sort of a weird feeling. i'm definitely looking forward to the time off and having the option to focus on me & baby, but it has just gone by so quick.

well, deployment #4 is underway. i am so proud of chris & us. i miss him like crazy, but i miss him when he goes to work, ha ha. can't wait for our next phone call!

yesterday we recorded belle for a bit and thought we'd share. i'm hoping that's what cozy & happy sounds like.

i couldn't quit figure out how to upload the wav. file so i just made it into a video using my anniversary card as the image, ha!

itchy

i tend to change into my comfy clothes right when i get home and i end up forgetting to take my weekly picture in a real outfit. you can also see some of my tops are getting a little short, oops.

things are still progressing along just right. we had another check up today. don't go back for another 4 weeks. my midwife says i'm a tiny bit anemic so i'm taking iron pills and vitamin c. i also have a nice little rash across my belly. i thought it might be deployment related hives (which i've been known to have) but it ends up that there is actually a pregnancy rash - completely hormone related and it will go away after delivery. for now, i'm just a little itchy.

we're working on our birth plan - our current assignment for our birthing class. i'm hoping that the hospital staff will take the time to read it and follow it. thank goodness i have a doula who will be there to advocate for me (plus mom and/or suzie!).

chris & i continue to keep ourselves busy. last weekend we took charley to dog beach in coronado. the weather was so nice, i actually wore my swimsuit. thanks to a little encouragement from a fellow mommy-to-be, she and i both found our preggo selves in bikinis that weekend. not sure what we have planned for this weekend, but i'm sure the time will go by quickly and before we know it we'll be out on the flightline for chris' departure. for now, we just hold on tight and soak in all we can.

so fast

this is week 30. i can't believe it! i feel like it's all going so fast. everything is still going well. baby is moving around even more. i think i might have felt an elbow this afternoon. chris is still reading to us in the evenings. we're almost done with shel silverstein's 'falling up'. he also made us a 2+ hour ipod playlist for the hospital. i'm really excited to hear what he put on there. thanks, love!
