seems to be a bit of a trend.
i think i take pictures all day long. either on my phone, with my big girl camera, or just in my head. i have so many i want to share and to remember so that’s what leads to what i suppose i’ll just start calling ASR (another set of randoms).

special outings to cups in la jolla with aunt deedee. we usually go as part of our april birthdays celebration but you don’t really need any particular excuse to go get cupcakes with a special friend other than the fact that you’re awake!
morning and evening birthday snuggles with my girlies.
extended birthday celebration with ice cream down by the beach.
emilymae likes to peek through the bottom of her swing and watch the things on the ground go back & forth. sometimes it’s leaves, sometimes it’s charley, and sometimes it doesn’t matter because she has fallen asleep.
out for a little walk along the boardwalk before our regular weekend stop at cantina.
we recently had our guest bath replaced because of some water damage from our upstairs neighbors.
it took a little while for everything to get done but sure is nice to get a ‘free’ upgrade.
before we just had a one piece tub/shower unit. now we have snazzy tile and a deeper tub.
the bathroom was gutted for over three week so it helped that the littlest one didn’t mind bath time in the kitchen sink.
we decided to get a new front door too. in the process we found out the old one was actually a hollow door filled with concrete. seriously? no wonder it was heavy, crooked, and terrible. our new door somehow makes this little condo feel a bit more homey – and thanks pinterest for the cool paint color idea for the inside.
(anabelle was a pretty good supervisor)
sadly, i rarely make it to crossfit these days. with opposite nap schedules and the logistics of two mobile kiddos it just hasn’t been happening lately. i sure do miss it though. things are always changing with little ones so i figure if i can just be patient, their routines are bound to change yet again next month. they always do.
this day i did make it and it felt great. even had my own cheering section!
emilymae is on the move . . .
. . . which means she can get to anabelle whenever she wants. as you can see, anabelle isn’t always very excited about that. can you tell she’s laying on top of all of her buddies so emilymae can get them?
poolside with her bestie, olivia.
anabelle lovin’ on her baby and rockin’ new floral skinny jeans.
we all had a fun time at crossfit regionals. really cool to see so many happy fit people and other girls with broad shoulders & strong quads. it was definitely a sun’s-out-guns-out kind of day! anabelle got a new shirt to join in the motivation: pullups, cleans, and kettlebell swings. that’s what girls are made of.
awesome!
out in la jolla to see the seals.
anabelle with her tower and her flowers from our walk (she wanted both in the picture). she picked a different one for each of us and i’m pretty sure papa’s was the biggest.
our double stroller lets me turn the girls seats around and swap front to back (city select by baby jogger, love it!). now that emilymae is getting bigger she can reach anabelle and it cracks them both up!
anabelle sure is entertaining and really creative. i got myself a second nose ring for my birthday and it just ended up that the four of us all went together to get it. chris wore emilymae and i wore anabelle.
so, now i have a stud on one side and a ring on the other. a couple weeks ago anabelle was playing with my purse while i was in the living room and said ‘look mama. see, i have a nose ring too!’ she even pointed out the ‘nose ring store’ to me when we drove past it the other day. (it’s on the way to cantina so we pass it regularly)
another favorite recent anabelle statements is: ‘oh, mango. like flamingo. at the zoo!’
she surprises us all the time making connections and remembering little details or things we said. she also likes to point out food trucks when we’re driving around. nice work, my mini foodie.
