last week was week 25 for emilymae and I turned 33!
below is how my birthday started out – snuggling with my two loves. chris took the entire day off which was a huge treat! in the past he’s usually not even in town this time of year. the three of us headed off to my prenatal check-up first and then to breakfast at one of our favorite spots.
the midwife at my check-up asked if anabelle seemed to be understanding what is going on with the baby. I’m not so sure. she can definitely sign baby and gets excited when she sees one or even an infant carseat – and she thinks my disappearing belly button is pretty funny too. then the midwife commented that she has seen a lot of little ones react to the sonogram as if they clearly recognize the sounds from inside. well, as soon as she found emilymae’s heartbeat and anabelle could hear the quick beats and swooshing womb sounds she just lit up! it was almost a ‘hey, I know that place!’ sort of reaction. chris’ face lit up too. he doesn’t get to make it to too many appointments.
ema is still measuring a tad small but on the same track as anabelle. next I’ll have my glucose test and then start going every two weeks. whoa, already?
it was a great way to start my birthday! we also made a fun target trip, took anabelle to swim class, and finished it off with dinner and cake at extraordinary desserts downtown. delish!
dressed and ready for some birthday fun together!
we’re trying to decide about birthing class refreshers – something much more on my radar than chris’. we’ve done a little ‘test driving’ and have figured out anabelle’s next carseat and our dream double stroller. I think anabelle is going to be so excited when she’s facing front in a few month. in may I’m getting a cover for my truck bed. with two carseats in the backseat of my truck, I had to come up with a space to put everything else. thanks for the tips & help, daddi-o.

happy happy birthday, beautiful lady! perhaps....perhaps i can help you with those birth class refreshers? would love to if that interests you!
When you mentioned Extraordinary Desserts it reminded me of the time me, you & Anne went! And then I realized, I think you were around the same amount of weeks pregnant with belle that time as you are now! Funny :)
@ sarah - would love that. it crossed my mind but wasn't sure if your plate was already too full.
@ alisha - i thought the same thing when we were there.
Happy Birthday Susan! I'm so glad you had such a special day!
First, happy birthday, Susan! Love reading your blog and keeping up with you and your little family. Second, what tandem stroller are you going with? I'm still on the hunt!
