anabelle and i both seemed to do some growing this week. after a week off from crossfit, we made our way back. i was sore, as was to be expected, and am working on building those callouses back up. anabelle was right at home back in her tire. for now, i'm still able to pull out a few pull-ups at a time, but they are surely getting tougher.
(a little tire smudge on her nose after crossfit)
my abs have officially gone on vacation until the fall and i have found myself with hips again. i’m trying to make room for you, miss emilymae.
i made the transition to maternity pants this weekend, aahh!
anabelle is getting taller now, but still a peanut. she has just started calling out ‘mama’ and ‘papa’ from her crib. she enjoyed her first bites of crawfish and alligator this weekend while family from louisiana were in town. we were all spoiled – chris and i even got a date out to a movie (a 3pm showing for us these days). we saw ‘acts of valor’ and it was incredible! intense, but incredible. be sure to take along tissues or wear long sleeves if you decide to go see it yourself.
just some of the sweet faces and crazy hair i get to enjoy each morning when i go get my anabelle out of her crib
anabelle sure is learning and trying new things and becoming a bit of an entertainer!
she’s giving her spoon a try somedays.
out of no where she started cracking up the other day just sitting in her chair. love it!
she has been working on her dance moves and is learning new signs all the time.
brooke at crossfit has been teaching anabelle to make fishy faces complete with hands by her cheeks as little fins. always good for another laugh.
this is one of my favorites right now – she tries so hard to jump and I can hear her practicing in her crib when I put her down for her nap.
I’m having such a blast watching her try and grow . . the only trick is that she’s not scared so that gets a little iffy for this momma sometimes. anabelle has had several quick meetings with her freezey friend lately to help soothe little bumps and bonks. she evens signs ‘thank you’ to her when she’s ready for me to put her back in the freezer.
(purchased from crankypants on etsy)
it’s starting to get more and more real and we continue to get more & more excited!
we recently found out that we are having another girl! i think chris & i were a smidge surprised at first, not really sure why. we figure we did pretty darn great with one girl – bring on the second one! i know i have a handsome tough marine for a husband, but he’s perfectly sweet and mushy on the insdie (don’t tell him i said that) so it makes a perfect fit having two sweet little girlies to work their magic on him.
random - have you ever heard jimmy buffet’s little miss magic? check it out if you need an awesome song to listen to.
it took a little while for the tech to get baby to ‘show’ but after having me turn from side to side and even get up to walk around & shake my belly, baby moved her legs (still with ankles crossed) just enough.
they project the ultrasound up on the wall so anabelle got up close to take a good look for herself. she was pointing and signing ‘baby’ while we were asking if she could see her little sister.
so, in late july (possibly early august) we will become a family of four welcoming our littlest EmilyMae Madeline!
can’t wait!
ok, i can wait a bit. this momma has a lot more planning and organizing to do! just being honest.
I’m pretty sure chris talked about someday attempting a turkish get-up with baby before we were ever pregnant. well, tadah, he did it! here you go – chris & anabelle’s first turkish get-up. not bad!
(it’s usually done with a kettlebell)
at 1:50 pm, I find myself still lost in the awesome-ness, strength, love, & breathtaking magic of my friend and this shared morning.
I am still processing.
I am blessed.
god is good!
second trimester already?! here we are, week 15. all of my denial at the beginning of this pregnancy sure is going to make these months seem to go by fast.
as you can probably tell, i’m sporting the same dress in my weekly pics. i tried to do a good stretch test on it in the store, but we’ll have to wait and see if it can really hang in until week 40.
baby is supposed to be approximately 4 inches long right now and growing eyebrows & eyelashes even though baby’s eyes are still sealed shut for now. as for me, i’m still eating several times a day, have the seat in my truck reclined pretty far back, and am pretty sure i need to pull out my exercise ball again soon.. i’m also trying to remember the best positions for all of my pillows at night and trying not to crowd chris too much.
anabelle has started to be pretty silly at times & is great entertainment!
here she is playing after breakfast one morning.
she’s a great snuggler too.
watching a little tv with papa while he snoozes.
missing papa last saturday morning when he was on the road.
her hair is getting so long!
i love getting to listen in on the two of them during bath time.
she seems to grow overnight & some days looks like such a big girl,
last week was week 14 and i’ve been feeling pretty good. i’m pretty sleeping once 8pm rolls around . . ok, maybe even 7pm.
i still struggle a bit coming up with what to prepare for dinner. i have figured out that if i can decide on a plan by lunch time then i do a lot better. it’s the prep part that still triggers the ‘icky’.
i’ve collected all of my maternity clothes after their cross country tour (it’s so nice to be able to share with other preggo friends) and am trying to figure out what fits right now – i’m definitely in the ‘in between’ stage.
today was the first morning in nearly nineteen months that i haven’t nursed my anabelle. i think my heart is aching a little – or maybe that’s just my boobs.
xo
so proud of us!
i will miss it, no doubt, but i know it will be a good break for me before baby #2 arrives. thanks, anabelle!
this past weekend we took a little stay-cation out to coronado. the weather was amazing and it was so nice to be in an open space with no agenda (other than finding regular meals for me) and no distractions. anabelle didn’t seem to be a big fan of her pack-n-play while we were there but that was the only challenge. once we were back home she slept through the night without a peep, fabulous!
it took anabelle a little time to get used to the sand again, it had been a while.
(you might want to turn the volume down, it was pretty windy out there)
enjoying the sunshine together
sunday morning i woke up first but didn’t want to leave my two loves.
hooray, they’re up!
